Youdha Bahadur Thapa, a technician at Kulekhani III Hydropower project, sought skills certification after witnessing colleagues advance in their career with their credentials. After attending the counselling for skills assessment through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), he completed a Level 2 Welder skills test on 8th November 2023. Thapa anticipates career advancement with this certification.

The Nepal Vocational Qualifications System Project-Phase II (NVQS P-II) has been supporting National Skill Testing Board (NSTB) to conduct skills test through RPL approach. NVQS P-II is a bi-lateral initiative of Government of Nepal and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC. Swisscontact provides technical assistance to the project on behalf of the SDC.
