Prof. Rabindra Nath Bhattarai is a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer with over 30 years of professional engagement in Nepal’s mechanical and automobile sectors. He currently serves as the Chairperson of the Automobile Sector Skill Committee and also leads both the Automobile and Mechanical Technical Subcommittees under CTEVT. Beginning his career as a Mechanical Engineer at a cement plant, he later joined the Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University, where he continues to contribute to engineering education, research, and technical program management. He is widely recognized for his expertise in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and has designed and supervised HVAC projects for major hotels, hospitals, commercial buildings, resorts, and residential complexes.
In addition to his academic and technical responsibilities, Prof. Bhattarai is active in various professional associations, including membership in the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) and founding membership of the Society of Mechanical Engineers Nepal (SOMEN). Since 2017, he has been Nepal’s focal point for the international HVAC conference URJAVARAN organized by ISHRAE, fostering collaboration among manufacturers, researchers, and industry experts.
Prof. Bhattarai holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alabama, USA. With his strong academic background and leadership experience, he continues to promote engineering excellence, enhance technical education, and strengthen Nepal’s automobile and mechanical skill development ecosystem.
Prof. Daniel Tuladhar is a distinguished academic and mechanical engineer with more than two decades of experience in engineering education, applied research, and technical leadership. He currently serves as Professor and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Kathmandu University, where he oversees laboratory development, technical training programs, and academic operations within the School of Engineering. His areas of specialization include applied mechanics, vehicle dynamics, and heavy equipment systems, and he has contributed to several research publications and patented innovations.
Beyond his academic role, Prof. Tuladhar is actively engaged in national and international professional initiatives related to skill development, research collaboration, and engineering capacity building. He has represented Kathmandu University in conferences and workshops and is a registered member of the Nepal Engineering Council.
He holds a PhD in Applied Mechanics from South-West State University, Russia; a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering (Heavy Equipment); and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, both from Kharkov State Automobile–Highway Technical University, Ukraine. Fluent in Nepali, English, Russian, and Hindi, he contributes significantly to strengthening the linkage between academia and industry within Nepal’s mechanical and automobile sectors.
Mr. Pushpa Narayan Manandhar is a veteran automotive professional with over 40 years of hands-on experience in motorcycle repair and maintenance. He currently serves as the Chief Mechanic at Kathmandu Motorcycle Servicing Workshop, where he oversees repair operations and provides expert technical services for a wide range of organizations. His career reflects strong technical competence, particularly in two-wheeler systems and workshop management.
He has been involved with CTEVT since 1993, contributing as a member and draft developer for the Motorcycle Mechanic Level 2 curriculum. He later served as a Curriculum Developer for Professional Motorcycle Mechanic programs and has trained numerous volunteers and emerging mechanics. His long-standing engagement has supported the standardization of skills and capacity-building initiatives in Nepal’s automotive training system.
Mr. Manandhar earned a Mechanical Engineering qualification from Thapathali Engineering Campus with merit. He has also attended multiple technical trainings, including programs with Indian motorcycle manufacturers, and received Skill Testing Officer training from the National Skill Testing Board, further strengthening his capacity in assessment and technical instruction.
Er. Dharma Maharjan is a senior academic and mechanical engineer with over 25 years of teaching and technical experience in automobile and mechanical engineering. He currently works as a Lecturer at the Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University, Thapathali Campus. He has previously served as Head of the Automobile Engineering Department, Chief of the Continuing Education Unit, and Head of the Industrial Engineering Department, contributing to academic leadership, laboratory development, and technical program coordination.
He has been actively engaged with CTEVT since 2019 as a member of the Automobile Sector Skill Committee. He has played a significant role in developing syllabi for various two-wheeler and four-wheeler programs, as well as the B.Ed. Tech in Automobile Engineering. He has served as an assessor and trainer, promoting skill standardization and competency development in Nepal’s automotive workforce.
Er. Maharjan holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Automobile and Automobile Maintenance from Kharkiv State Automobile–Highway Technical University, Ukraine, and a Proficiency Certificate in Automobile Engineering from IOE Thapathali Campus. Fluent in Nepali, Newari, English, and Russian, he has completed several international training programs and visited countries including Russia, Ukraine, Taiwan, South Korea, and India to further enhance his knowledge and professional capacity.
Mr. Bashudev Timalsina is a seasoned automotive expert with over 18 years of professional experience in service operations, automotive training, and the introduction of advanced automotive technologies in Nepal. He currently serves as Head of Aftersales Service and Training at Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of Hyundai vehicles in Nepal. In this capacity, he oversees nationwide service operations, manages technical training programs, and supports the growth of electric vehicle technology within the country.
Mr. Timalsina holds an MBA from Kantipur International College and a Diploma in Automobile Engineering. He is currently pursuing a Master in Technical Education and Vocational Training (MTVET) at Kathmandu University. His professional certifications include “Certified Trainer” from Hyundai Motor Group University and “Expert Electrical Vehicle Technician,” both of which reflect his commitment to advancing technical capability and innovation in Nepal’s automotive sector. His professional excellence has been recognized through awards and publications at the Hyundai Training Academy.
Mr. Dipesh Poudel is an accomplished mechanical and management professional with more than 15 years of experience in automotive service operations, non-destructive testing, and technical training. He currently serves as Training Manager at Sipradi Trading Pvt. Ltd., leading HR development and technical capacity-building programs for the company’s automotive workforce. His previous experiences include serving as a Service Advisor at Sipradi and as an NDT Inspector in Saudi Arabia.
He is also a Skill Test Assessor and Master Assessor with the NSTB, and a member of both the Technical Committee for Automobile and the National Curriculum Framework Development Committee. His contributions in curriculum development and skill standardization have significantly advanced Nepal’s automotive training system.
Mr. Poudel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tribhuvan University, an Executive MBA from Purwanchal University, and a Master’s in Technical Education and Vocational Training (MTEVT) from Kathmandu University. A registered Mechanical Engineer, he has also been nationally recognized for his contribution to the design and fabrication of “Danfe,” Nepal’s first light aircraft. His leadership in organizing technical competitions and trainings further reflects his dedication to promoting innovation and excellence in the automotive sector.
Mr. Ram Prasad Bhatta is a highly experienced professional in technical and vocational education and automobile engineering, with more than 40 years dedicated to skill development and training in Nepal. Since 2012, he has been serving as a Training Consultant at the Sipradi Training Centre, contributing to the professional growth of technicians, trainers, and automotive instructors.
His career includes an extensive tenure at the Institute of Engineering (IOE), where he worked as Assistant Instructor, Instructor, and Senior Instructor across Dharan and Thapathali Campuses from 1981 to 2007. His experience has contributed significantly to the evolution of technical instruction and capacity building in Nepal’s automotive training system.
Mr. Bhatta holds a Bachelor’s degree in Vocational Education from Tribhuvan University and a Certificate in Automobile Engineering from IOE Thapathali Campus. He has completed various international training programs, including Technical Teacher Training in the United Kingdom and India, Advanced Automobile Training in South Korea, and Electric Vehicle Training in the United Kingdom. His long-standing contributions reflect deep commitment to advancing skills, technology adoption, and professional excellence within Nepal’s automotive workforce.
