HARI BK

Meet Hari BK, a true testament to resilience and ambition! Despite humble beginnings in Biratnagar, Hari's entrepreneurial spirit drove him to carve his path in the welding industry. Starting as a helper in a local factory, he absorbed every bit of knowledge about welding like a sponge.

With determination as his fuel, Hari opened his own welding shop, not just once but twice – first in Biratnagar and then in Kathmandu. However, economic downturns posed challenges, leading him to explore opportunities in India and Saudi Arabia.

His journey took an unexpected turn when he discovered the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) approach, a pathway to formal certification of his skills. With the support of the Nepal Vocational Qualifications System Project-Phase II (NVQS P-II), Hari underwent counseling and skills assessment, awaiting the final results eagerly.

Armed with both extensive experience and formal certifications, Hari is poised to elevate his career to new heights. NVQS P-II has been supporting the National Skill Testing Board (NSTB) to conduct skills test through RPL approach. NVQS P-II is a bi-lateral initiative of Government of Nepal and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC. Swisscontact provides technical assistance to the project on behalf of the SDC.
