The NVQS P-II recently conducted an extensive three-day orientation program for a cohort of 20 newly appointed Trainee Officers in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). This initiative, led by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), aims to enhance Nepal's TVET sector by providing professionals with essential skills and knowledge.

Oranized from March 29 to April 1, 2024, the orientation program was meticulously structured to provide trainees with a robust understanding of TVET principles, as well as their roles and responsibilities within the sector. Its primary objective was to prepare them for upcoming placements within three key SDC-funded projects: NVQS P-II, ENSSURE, and QualiTY.

During the initial day, trainees were introduced to foundational concepts of TVET, gaining insights into its significance within Nepal's educational framework. Furthermore, they received a comprehensive overview of the ENSSURE project, which focuses on enhancing the quality and relevance of TVET programs nationwide. Subsequently, the second day of the orientation was dedicated to delving deeper into the NVQS P-II, providing trainees with a thorough understanding of its objectives, strategies, and implementation mechanisms. Finally, on the third day, trainees immersed themselves in the intricacies of the QualiTY project.

The TVET Traineeship Program, facilitated by SDC, underscores the pressing demand for skilled professionals in Nepal's evolving TVET sector. By offering placements within the NVQS P-II, ENSSURE, and QualiTY projects, the program not only furnishes trainees with valuable hands-on experience but also contributes to the broader objective of advancing Nepal's TVET landscape.

As the orientation program drew to a close, trainees expressed enthusiasm and readiness to commence their respective placements, armed with the newfound knowledge and insights acquired during the intensive three-day program.
